Select Tryout Process:

Players will be given 2 tryouts if field time is available.

The Select Committee will help the Head Coaches evaluate players and selection of the teams.

Select Committee:

For the 2020 Season the Select Committee will consist of Alex Elwell (VP of House League), and Mike Butt (Select Convenor).

Teams for the 2020 season will be determined by June 1st. Tryouts will be held in May.

Select Coaches:

Select Head Coaches will be picked through an interview process. Coaches will need to be aware of the Select rules and policies provided by the OBA. Coaches need to be certified according to the OBA rules. All coaches must obtain their certification by June 15th.

Rookie Ball Select Coach - OPEN

Mosquito Select Coach - Matt Zimmerman

Peewee Select Coach - OPEN

Bantam Select Coach - Alex Elwell

Midget Select Coach - Tina Ilnicki

Select Equipment:

The listed Coaches will use their own team's equipment and will be provided additional equipment if needed.

Expenses:

Select teams will incur additional fees above what the league registration covers. Additional expenses such as field time, tournaments, umps, games, uniforms, development clinics, etc. will be covered by a Select Premium fee that will be applied to all Select Players. A budget needs to be provided by each Coach and approved by the Select Committee & fundraising initiatives may be used to help offset costs.

Games and Practices:

Practices and games will be booked around house league events. No players are to skip their own house league team event to participate in a Select event unless they are given full approval by the Select Committee and the Head Coaches. Players missing regular HL practices to participate in select will be removed from the Select team.

Games and practices will need to be booked through Alex Elwell for scheduling purposes.
